The Forum was organized by Kyrgyz parliament (Natalia Nikitenko – a Steering Committee member of GPFE, Aida Kasymalieva – Vice Speaker) with the support of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Network in the Kyrgyz Republic, Eurasian Alliance of National Evaluation Associations, and financial support from UNICEF, UNICEF and other partners. 

Around 90 Participants: parliamentarians and government officials, representatives of evaluation societies from the Eurasian region, as well as representatives of international organizations, international and local experts, NGOs and research organizations participated in the Forum to discuss  effective approaches to creation of national monitoring and evaluation systems, role of Parliaments and  ways of  collaboration between Parliament, Government, and civil society in building  national evaluation systems and implementing SDGs.  

Forum’s International Speakers:  Hon. Kabir Hashim  (Chair, Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation, Minister – Sri Lanka) , Hon. Mayantha Dissanayake, Hon. Mylvaganam Thilakarajah (Members from Sri Lanka Parliament),  Ada Ocampo (Senior Evaluation Specialist, UNICEF),  Marco Segone  (UNFPA Director of Evaluation), Natalia Kosheleva  (expert, ex-president of IOCE), Ian Goldman (South Africa), Rakesh Mohan, (Director, Office of Performance Evaluations, Idaho State Legislature)  –  made interesting presentations sharing experience on  NEP and  discussed   with the Forum participants the main focuses and steps  of development of NEPS. 

Vice speaker of Kyrgyz Parliament Aida Kasymalieva with colleagues from Kyrgyz MPs presented history of parliamentarians movement for evaluation in the Eurasian region, experience of using evaluations by Parliaments.  MPs from Eurasian Region (Aremenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia, Uzbekistan) discussed existing situation with M&E system and presented plans on National evaluation systems development. The last session of the Forum was held in Kyrgyz Parliament. 

A lot of interesting presentations and productive discussions and informal meetings were held during sessions. One of the results of the event was establishment of the Regional Parliamentarians Forum  in Eurasia and  deeper understanding on Parliamentarian role in building National evaluation systems for greater effectiveness and development on country levels.
